M16 / NGC 6611

At a distance of 7000 light years in the constellation of the Serpent, and the next inner arm of our galaxy of star formation has started in a big cloud of interstellar gas and dust in a lively process. The open cluster M16 has 4703 formed from this large gas and dust cloud, the diffuse Eagle Nebula IC. This mist is lit by light emission, which is excited by the high-energy radiation of young hot stars.
